Overview

ScholarScoop is a browser extension that helps researchers export Google Scholar search results to CSV. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how the extension works.

Data Collection

ScholarScoop does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.

Specifically, the extension:

• Does not collect any personal information
• Does not track your browsing activity
• Does not send any data to external servers
• Does not use analytics, cookies, or tracking technologies
• Does not share any data with third parties

Data Storage

The extension uses Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local) solely to:

• Temporarily store extracted search results so they accumulate across pages
• Remember your language preference (English or Chinese)

This data is stored entirely on your local device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear all stored data at any time using the "Clear all" button in the extension popup.

Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions, each used for a specific purpose:

• activeTab — To read search results from the currently active Google Scholar tab when you click the extension icon
• scripting — To run a content script on the Google Scholar page that extracts visible search result data
• downloads — To save the exported CSV file to your computer
• storage — To store extracted results locally and remember your language preference

Third-Party Services

ScholarScoop does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services.

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
